Route 66 Western Gateway Arch imposed on a major Manhattan “avenues”
The opening credits sequence shows various photographic and painted views as well as Oklahoma landmarks imposed on the New York City landscape: A statue of the Sioux Indian chief “Touch the Clouds”; wearing a war bonnet and bone choker necklace (breastplate) imposed on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. Gilded statue of the Driller imposed on the Statue of Liberty. In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several “Avenues” which are crisscrossed by smaller numbered streets.
I really like this show
Featured on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #45.7 (2022). It’s a little unbelievable but mostly entertaining. The humor that Stallone brings to the character (from the writers) levels out the parts that are absurd.
A fish out of water, no
Stallone gives a nuanced portrayal of a monster just released from prison. Who is given the chance to move to a southwestern state and make money for the bosses back home? He makes the best of a situation he’d rather not be in.
Stallone is in his element and delivers the goods
A shark in a different ocean is perhaps more like it. This looks like it will be a fantastic addition to the storied and legendary career of one of Hollywood’s biggest box office draws of all time.
