Story
Following the events of “The Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, known as the Penguin, attempts to take control of Gotham’s underworld, except for the season finale’s bat signal, which takes a cameo from Robert Pattinson in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer the question: Where was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to get the smoking version of the Penguin in The Batman (2022) but failed. However, in his own series, the character is portrayed as a casual tobacco user with a passion for cigars.
So the first episode is over and it’s great
logo “Graham Norton and guests”: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I’ve never seen Farrell so immersed in a character. I mean, yeah, he’s wearing a fat suit, but you’d never know it.
He’s a New York gangster, a smart guy
His mannerisms, his body language, his voice – all of these things immerse you in the character and all you see is the Penguin. He has nothing to do with the other Penguins on TV, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor. He’s a Scorsese gangster, but without the flowery language.
The Penguin is a middleman in a mafia organization
The story is simple, similar to Lord Taylor’s Penguin on The CW’s Gotham. So far, he’s done his time, slowly rising in the mafia, and then when the Riddler blows up the sea wall of the city and his boss dies in this movie, he gets a chance to rise in the world. Now the game of deceit, double-dealing and triple-dealing begins.
