A grieving therapist starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making big changes in people’s lives – including his own. Share the top moments that defined their characters in Season 1 and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression.
Ultimately, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him on the role
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and was going to audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that he wanted to bring it to Ford, but he thought he would immediately reject it, but at least he would get other famous actors interested so that others would hear that Harrison Ford brought the project to him.

Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was excited nonetheless. I’ve watched the first two episodes and found them fascinating.
Other therapists should do, and that’s pretty clear
Part of the reason for that is that I find it to be a reality-based show about a therapist who needs therapy and unexpectedly needs to break down his own issues in order to get to know his patients. I also respect the way it’s presented – it’s not something he does.
The show isn’t for everyone
It hasn’t gotten into the silly situations of other shows like Loot, but it’s still early in the series and I’ll continue to watch it. That being said, I enjoy the depth of the characters that don’t come across as caricatures; they’re people I want to get to know.
