(2024) Not LOTR, not in a million years
This film lacks Tolkien’s shock, epic tone, and the plot is very random and contrived. The Lord of the Rings anime has a lot of anime (in my opinion, it doesn’t fit this kind of story) and a lot less Lord of the Rings.
On the pros of the film, the music is very good!
The Ralph Bakshi version from the seventies wasn’t that good, but after being respectful to the books, you can’t help but look at this animation style and want at least that quality and realism. And the story seems to me to be something that Talking covers with a simple reference without much detail, War of the Rohirrim is a story that is overly stretched to fill the film’s time slot.
Really good, the only music in the trilogy
