American (English) Remake of the French Series HPI (2021)
Story
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her exceptional mind helps her solve a crime while sorting through evidence as a police cleaner. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of mysteries, Morgan commits a series of fundamental legal mistakes that no one who has ever watched a legal TV show can make. In the first part, for example, he obtains a document from a locked safe in the suspect-victim’s lawyer’s office that would never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence. Nor can it be used to obtain other evidence—a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine.
A remake of HPI (2021)
Part 2 reminds you to wear gloves before handling evidence at a crime scene, and part 3 removes all documentary evidence from the police, completely breaking the chain of custody and making anything removed no longer admissible in court. I’m really into any show/movie that features someone with a unique ability behind a personality that just doesn’t fit. It’s like a secret superpower. The main character has just that.
Frazzled plays so well!
His life seems to be a bit of a mess, he’s all over the place, but… he’s crazy smart and notices details that other experienced people miss. I was already a fan of Kaitlin, so it’s no surprise that I love her here. I appreciate that each episode solves the case.
I’m really looking forward to the next parts
I’m over a series that spans an entire season or more. Just tell a solid story and conclusion within an hour! It delivers. It’s well-paced, has some funny lines, and overall is just plain fun to watch.
Solid MC to root for
Let’s hope they don’t cancel after one season like everyone does these days.
